Whitening comparable to 10% carbamide peroxide and you "will have whiter teeth for 6 months".

Eating, drinking, or sleeping is not
recommended while you are wearing the
Whitestrips. Doing so could affect whitening results.
|
 |
Crest recommends patients start with their
upper teeth first so you can see the contrast in color changes.
|
 |
Teeth that have
blue-gray stains or dark stains caused by
certain types of medications during tooth
development may require a different whitening
system. |
 |
Personal results will vary with habits
(smoking, coffee drinking, etc.).

After using
Professional Crest Whitestrips, Crest
recommends Crest Dual Action Whitening toothpaste to be used with the Crest
extra soft toothbrush to gently polish away surface stains
daily (both provided free with the
Professional Whitestrips Kit). |

Dentist supervised whitening
will give you the best results with less margin for error.
It is advisable
to schedule
a teeth cleaning
appointment before you start any type of
whitening treatment. These treatments
can be harmful if you have cavities or decay,
plus clean teeth absorb the whitening
ingredient better.
When our staff tried
WhiteStrips they had problems with placing them on their teeth and keeping them
on. Also, if the strips accidentally got stuck together while trying to
place them on their teeth they were impossible to try to separate so they had to
use another strip. They wanted to advise you to do the process slowly so they will stay
on better. They felt this product is a

According to Dental
Economics article of December 2000 by Michael Miller, D.D.S. pg 116, the strips
are "reasonably comfortable to wear, do not affect speech" and they
are disposable. However, " it is also certain that patients will
still get the best and fastest results by using a tray."
Whitestrips
"only cover (in most cases) canine to canine. So to bleach all the
visible teeth in most patients (10-12 teeth), they will need to use two strips
at the same time, doubling their costs."
This product is
useful if you want to only whiten one shade or as a touch up after using
a tray based whitening product. A tray whitening system would work
more efficiently to change more than one shade lighter.

Whitening
effect is entirely
dependent on peroxide concentration x time in contact with teeth
