Water is a perfect place to exercise no matter how old you are!

Do you know which age group of the American population is growing most rapidly?

If you answered those over fifty, you are correct. The baby boomers account for approximately one-third of the United States population. As boomers age, there's an increased interest in health.

Staying healthy means eating well and getting regular physical activity.

bulletStart your healthful eating plan with ADA's Food Guide Pyramid for Persons 50 Plus (based on the USDA's Food Guide Pyramid). It's a simple guide for making healthful food choices. 
bulletOr, you may want to consult a registered dietitian who can customize an eating plan just for you.
bulletIt's important to increase activity slowly.
bulletAim for 30 minutes of physical activity over the course of the day. Walk the dog, climb stairs or park a little further away. A little bit at a time adds up quickly.
bulletNext, increase aerobic activities to 3-5 times a week--swim, bike, play golf or tennis. 
bulletAnd finally, include weight training and stretching 2-3 times a week.
