Decay Preventing Gum

Chew Your Way to Relief

This is the season for large meals and even larger digestive discomfort, however researchers recently found that chewing sugarless gum for 30 minutes can be an effective remedy for those times when mild heartburn strikes.

To improve mental performance, just chew!

People were asked to chew sugarless gum, simulate the act of chewing, or keep their mouths still during memory and reaction time exercises.  The test involved remembering words and images and subtracting.

The results of this study showed that chewing improved episodic memory , the learning, storage, and retrieval of information related to personal experiences.  Both real and pretend chewing improved working memory, temporary retention of information needed for a short time only.  Other studies have linked chewing to improved blood flow in the brain.
