Cold sores are red,
itchy and sometimes painful fever blisters that occur around the lips.
They are an outbreak of a virus that never goes away and is HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS
Cold sores can be
brought on by stress and even exposure to ultraviolet light.
Since they are
CONTAGIOUS they can be transmitted to a new site on the body or to another person.
This occurs through contact with any part of the body where the virus finds a
way the penetrate the skin.
For this reason men with
cold sores need to be very careful when shaving. The virus from a nicked
sore can be transmitted to the razor and infect another part of the face through
another cut. Also if a man shares his razor with another he can also be
passing this virus on to that person.
To prevent spreading
this virus through a razor we recommend you use a disposable
razor during an outbreak and discard the blade after one use.
Direct lip to lip contact,
kissing, can also transfer the virus as can sharing a glass.
Remember to keep this infected
area clean and try treating it with aloe vera. Also use a lip balm that
contains sunscreen and aloe along with reducing stress in your life.
